Trailing Shield Flap Compatible with Toro 30 Timemaster Lawn Mower (1-Pack)

The trailing shield, which is located between the rear wheels and is black in color, is a normal component that can become worn or damaged over time, necessitating replacement. This shield has been in use since 2012 and is still being installed on new machines.

The trailing shield measures 21 ¼" in width at the widest part and 20" at the top. Its primary function is to reduce the number of stones and other debris from being flung backwards towards the operator, serving as an important safety feature that helps to minimize the likelihood of the operator's foot accidentally contacting the blade.

To remove the old shield, begin by removing the battery and turning the mower on its side. Then, remove both rear wheels and loosen the locking screws on both sides of the trailing shield, allowing you to remove the old shield. Next, attach the new trailing shield using the two locking screws and flat washers. Reinstall the rear wheels, ensuring that the parts are replaced in the exact order they were removed.

The trailing shield is secured to the lawn mower's deck to keep the grass out and can be used to replace a broken or lost trail shield. The product size is as follows: Upper bottom: 19-7/8 inch, Lower bottom: 21-1/4 inch (manual measurement may have slight deviations).

It is important to note that the trailing shield is designed for forward motion only. Pushing the mower backwards with the trailing shield installed will likely result in damage or breakage due to the blades inside. To maintain the shield's service life, it is recommended to push the mower only forwards when the shield is installed.

The parts include plastic expansion anchors, which need to be removed from the part and "lightly" held with wide-jaw pliers before installing the factory screw until it is seated. Once the new guard is installed on the mower, the anchor/screw assembly should be tapped into place, completing the installation.
